A Little Thing Called Love

Standard

medium_3565826467

The language between you and I,

Utterances of supreme pleasure

Gifts offered, once declined but I,

With all my hesitance, now I give over to you

That which proffers the inevitable

That which ensures my trust is secure

I am a hopeless cause where causes

Are concerned; my body lies at the edge

Of loveโ€™s crevasse, awaiting the fall,

Your name is on my lips

    • And I believe it was the Doobie Brothers who said, “Without love, where would you be right now?” And I say, ‘Nothing so wonderful and so vexing in all of life than love.’ We can write about this one topic alone and never run out of things to say on the subject! Thanks always for stopping in ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. The producers of the Twilight movies may be calling you. This is the perfect poem for Bella to recite (or Belle, whatever the heck her name is–I obviously haven’t read the books, but I’ve definitely heard the hype). Nice piece. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Nice romantic verse Sheila. I like that it is short and sweet. Keeping it shorter seems to be more effective when writing about love. I guess some of it is better inferred than said.
