Sunday Morning Ethics

Standard

The pretty smiles they hide behind

What joy they take in false pretense –

Shake her hand and his and his

Let them know they’ve been missed

But, oh, the thoughts run through their minds,

Assume and stake their words upon

The tongue offering its foolish snare

Stones of judgement from a preacher’s hands

His sin, her sin – rack ’em up

In pompous flair they pray

Self-righteous minds would ne’er think themselves a

Sinner such as I
